Astrid Bek, founder and managing director
Astrid Bek is an influential actor in defining management recruitment techniques in Switzerland. After earning an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Marketing, she began her career in import/export in the oil industry, landing a directorship position at 27 years old. Subsequently, Astrid went into marketing and sales for a multinational firm, allowing her to use her fluency in five different languages while also developing her intercultural management skills. At 30, Astrid entered the HR recruitment business and quickly became the most productive member in Switzerland of a major international executive recruitment firm, while simultaneously holding a seat as a board member for another company. In 1984, Astrid decided to focus exclusively on headhunting and, in 1988, created her own firm Objectif Cadres SA in Geneva, which became one of the few HR search firms in the area to survive the successive market slumps over the years.
